Steve Blank on Startup Communities
Lessons Learned: Building a regional entrepreneurial culture is critical, Top-down government-driven clusters are an oxymoron and Entrepreneurs lead a startup community while everyone else feeds the community (government, universities, investors, mentors, service providers and large companies)

Brad Pineau Completely agree with this philosophy.

Bing Chou I'm lucky to be in the Boulder startup community where Brad F. and many others practice the "give before you get" philosophy. I was new to the community ~4 years ago. By giving first, I've managed to build a network of very meaningful relationships despite the fact that I'm an introvert by nature. I "get" on a regular basis, which is a beautiful thing.

Forbes: The Startup Revolution Starts With You
Great article in Forbes by Lesa Mitchell of the Kauffman Foundation talking about the Startup Revolution and Startup Communities. It has some great nuggets including one of my favorites. Communities create “hotspots” for entrepreneurship by supporting churn – constant movement in and out of your local network keeps ideas and capital flowing. As a new report from the Kauffman Foundation that analyzed the movements of Inc. 500 founders revealed, 75 percent of the founders started their firms in different metro areas from the ones where they last received a degree. Startup Chile has provided a great example of attracting entrepreneurs from all over the world – thereby creating new collisions in Santiago each time they launch a new class of startups.-
Jeromy Sonne As a recent transplant from eastern Iowa to Boulder, I have to say that density has it's perks. All startups have their ups and downs, and just being around other entrepreneurs who can relate or offer advice is immensely valuable beyond everything else that comes along with a vibrant hub.

3 simple steps to stretch your runway and be more productive
Series A crunch? Maybe. Accelerator bubble? Debatable. No matter the climate, it's still up to you to make the most of the money you have to work with. In this post, I suggest you can more than quadruple the value of your dollars while living right on the beach. I'll admit the title is a little leading (and goofy).- Like

Why “Startup Communities” is Even Bigger Than I Realized
After spending a few days hanging out with Brad Feld, I’ve come to the conclusion that Startup Communities is not simply a book targeted at the minority of the population who currently identify themselves as entrepreneurs. What Brad is working on is actually much bigger. My conclusion stems from the idea that he left ringing in my head following his visit to Kentucky: “Every city was once a startup.”- Like

Bill Felix Great Keynote. It was so inspirational that our team #PopupStartup included two founding values for our #SWCincy final pitch! Although, looking back... I bet the judges were hoping that we focused more time on the revenue model. haha.
